Risk Specialist

We're looking for a Risk Specialist to join our Enterprise Operations Risk & Compliance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build or further develop their career in risk management while gaining exposure to a wide range of operational, fraud, financial crime and compliance activities across the Bank. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure across Enterprise Operations and develop a strong foundation in operational risk and compliance. You'll work closely with stakeholders across a variety of business units, supporting risk management activities, control assurance, reporting, governance and business continuity initiatives. Key responsibilities include: Supporting the delivery of risk and compliance activities across Enterprise Operations Performing control assurance and control effectiveness testing to ensure key controls are operating as intended Assisting with the preparation and analysis of risk reporting, metrics and insights Supporting governance activities, including meeting coordination and minute taking Working with stakeholders across varying levels of seniority to identify, assess and manage operational risks Assisting with business continuity and disaster recovery planning activities Monitoring and supporting key compliance and risk deliverables to ensure obligations are met Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and ways of working Contributing to a strong risk culture through effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration This role offers exposure to a wide variety of operational areas across the Bank, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to establish a long-term career in risk and compliance. We're less focused on finding someone with deep technical risk expertise and more interested in finding someone with the right mindset, strong attention to detail and a genuine curiosity to learn. Ideally you'll bring: Experience in risk, compliance, quality assurance, financial crime, fraud or banking operations Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately across multiple priorities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills A proactive and inquisitive approach with a willingness to ask questions and challenge the status quo Good organisational and time management skills The ability to build effective working relationships across a broad stakeholder group A continuous improvement mindset and interest in making processes better This position would suit candidates from operational risk, compliance, fraud, financial crime, quality assurance or broader banking operations backgrounds who are looking to take the next step in their career.
