Job Description
Monday-Friday| 2:30pm-5:30pm | $32-34 per hour This is a role for someone experienced, dependable and switched on - someone a whānau can rely on to consistently show up, follow through and hold a young person's trust. We're looking for genuine experience supporting people with autism or complex disability, confidence with full personal care, and the judgement to handle whatever the afternoon brings. You'll need a full driver's licence and your own car, as some afternoons are spent out and about. If you're someone who turns up on time, does what you say you'll do, and takes the responsibility of caring for someone else's daughter seriously, we want to hear from you. About her She's a funny, caring 14-year-old, determined to become as independent as possible. She has a PDA profile and thrives when communication is collaborative and low-demand, so this isn't a role for giving instructions. You'll work alongside her, offering choices and building trust, so she has a positive afternoon. She requires full support with personal cares, including showering and continence support. Confidence and hands-on experience here is essential, not negotiable. The role Some afternoons are relaxed at home, unwinding after school with routines and personal care. Others are about getting out and bringing a bit of adventure into her week. Either way, it takes someone who can read the room, adjust their approach and stay steady under pressure. Consistency matters here - she does best with people who show up reliably and build a relationship over time. What we're looking for Genuine, hands-on experience supporting people with autism or complex disability Confident and experienced providing full personal care Full driver's licence and access to your own car Reliable, someone who commits to the role and shows up Calm, resilient and adaptable under pressure Good judgement and the ability to work independently Experience with PDA profiles (or a genuine willingness to learn) Additional weekend and school holiday shifts may also be available. If you'rean experienced, reliable person looking for a meaningful role where you can make a real difference in one young women's life, and her whānau's peace of mind, we'd love to hear from you. Flying Kites helps disabled people across Aotearoafind support workers who are the right fit, not just available. We know thebest support grows from genuine relationships, shared interests, and commonvalues - because great support starts with the right connection. #J-18808-Ljbffr
