Healthy Active Learning School Connector Full-time, Permanent Position Based in the Mid North Sport Northland is seeking a passionate and relationship-focused Healthy Active Learning School Connector to join our Healthy Active Learning team. The Healthy Active Learning team is a collaborative and passionate group who work alongside schools and kura across Northland to create positive and sustainable change. Through strong relationships, tailored support, and a focus on local needs, the team helps schools provide quality opportunities for tamariki to develop a lifelong love of movement, while strengthening connections between schools, whānau, and their communities. Healthy Active Learning is a joint initiative between Sport New Zealand, the Ministry of Education, and Health New Zealand, designed to improve the wellbeing of tamariki through quality physical activity, play, healthy eating environments, and stronger school and community connections. About the Role Working with primary and intermediate schools and kura throughout the Mid North, you will build strong relationships with school leaders, teachers, and wider communities to support the development of healthy, active school environments. You will help schools strengthen opportunities for quality play, physical activity, sport, and health and physical education, while supporting sustainable approaches to wellbeing, healthy food environments, and community engagement. You will work alongside schools to influence positive change, facilitate meaningful conversations, and identify solutions that reflect the unique needs and aspirations of their learners, whānau, and communities. We're Looking For Someone Who Has Experience working within, or alongside, primary and intermediate schools or kura, with a strong understanding of the education sector. Exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to engage, influence, and support a wide range of people. Experience leading or supporting change and helping others adopt new ways of thinking and working. Knowledge of how play, physical activity, sport, active recreation, and a hauora-focused approach contribute to improved outcomes for tamariki.
