About the Role We are seeking an experienced Security Trainer to provide leadership, coordination and delivery of high-quality security training and capability development across Counties Manukau District. The Security Trainer will be responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating training programmes that ensure our security workforce is competent, confident and aligned with best practice. This includes supporting compliance with national standards, promoting a safe environment for staff and patients, and embedding a culture of continuous learning and improvement. The role also contributes to organisational resilience by strengthening preparedness, supporting emergency response capability, and promoting safe and effective security practices across our services. About You This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced learning and training professional with a strong background in instructional design, learning development and delivery, ideally within a security-related environment. Extensive experience in the design, development and delivery of learning programmes, including competency-based and blended learning approaches. Experience delivering training and applying NZQA requirements across quality systems, learning processes, training delivery and funding. Proven experience as a confident and competent facilitator who can deliver high-quality blended learning programmes. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, self-start and operate within programme management guidelines. Experience working with diverse communities and a range of stakeholders. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organisation. The ability to build and maintain strong internal and external networks to support successful outcomes. A background in security training, policing, corrections, emergency services, defence, healthcare security, or a similar operational environment will be highly regarded. Strong knowledge of healthcare security practices, experience applying the Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) de‑escalation framework, and an understanding of violence prevention, personal safety, and Keep People Safe programmes will be advantageous.
