Are you an experienced warehouse leader looking for the next step in your career? We are seeking a motivated and proven Warehouse Manager to join a leading New Zealand logistics operation based in Christchurch. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing warehouse and yard operations, ensuring freight is managed safely, efficiently, and in line with customer expectations. You'll lead a team of supervisors and warehouse staff while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
The Opportunity:\nReporting to the Branch Manager, this is a key leadership position within a busy and growing logistics operation, where you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on performance, culture, and customer outcomes. You'll be responsible for leading warehouse and yard operations, ensuring freight is managed safely, efficiently, and in line with operational and customer expectations, while supporting the ongoing development of a capable and engaged team. This role is well suited to a proactive leader who enjoys taking ownership, identifying opportunities for improvement, and driving high standards across all aspects of the operation. Working closely with both internal and external stakeholders, you'll play an important part in maintaining operational excellence and supporting the continued success of the Christchurch branch.
Key Responsibilities:\n- \n
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse teams to achieve operational and customer service objectives. \n
- Plan and coordinate loading and unloading activities to meet service schedules and customer requirements. \n
- Oversee warehouse and yard operations to maximise efficiency and productivity. \n
- Ensure freight is accurately receipted, stored, documented, and dispatched. \n
- Maintain compliance with health and safety, security, and regulatory requirements. \n
- Manage recruitment, training, performance management, and workforce planning. \n
- Monitor equipment, facilities, and maintenance requirements across the site. \n
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational best practices. \n
- Build strong relationships with customers, internal stakeholders, and regulatory bodies. \n

- Proven experience in a Warehouse Manager or similar operational leadership position. \n
- Experience within warehousing, logistics, transport, or FMCG environments. \n
- MPI experience and a sound understanding of MPI compliance requirements (essential). \n
- Strong leadership, coaching, and performance management capability. \n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills. \n
- A demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety. \n
- Forklift certification (preferred). \n
- Facilities or site management experience (advantageous). \n
- Transport licences or leadership qualifications (beneficial but not essential). \n
