Be at the centre of a growing organisation — across twoISBs The Transport Industry Skills Board (ISB) is gainingmomentum, and we’re looking for a talented Communications Advisor to help shapeour voice, strengthen our presence, and support relationships across oursectors. This is a shared full‑time role between the Transport ISB and the Electrotechnology, Information Technology and Creative Industry Skills Board(ETITC ISB ). You’ll bring communications expertise to two growingorganisations, working with two leadership teams and two industry networks.Time and priorities will be coordinated collaboratively across both ISBs. If you’re a strong writer, confident engaging diverseaudiences, and motivated by meaningful, sector‑wide impact — this is your role. Why this role matters The Transport ISB leads workforce development across road,rail, aviation, maritime, logistics, and the wider transport system. ETITC ISBsupports the electrotechnology and IT sectors, including digital technologies,cybersecurity, networking, creative and emerging tech. Clear, purposeful communication is essential to how bothISBs build trust and engage industry. In this shared role, you’ll help shapeeach organisation’s presence, credibility, and relationships at a crucial stageof establishment. What you’ll be doing You’ll work across both organisations to: Producehigh‑quality written content — including industry updates, articles,newsletters, web content, briefings, media releases, and communicationsfor hui, events, and engagement activities across two sectors Managerelationships with sector media and publications across both transport andelectrotechnology/IT industries, adapting tone and content appropriatelyto each audience. Supportdigital channels for each ISB, including website content, social media,and email communications. Provideinternal communications that help keep each team informed and connected. Monitorsector publications to identify opportunities, risks, and emerging trendsrelevant to each ISB. Collaboratewith two sets of leaders and stakeholders, helping prioritise workloadacross two organisations with transparency and clarity. UpholdTe Tiriti o Waitangi in all communications, ensuring content reflects andsupports equitable outcomes for Māori learners and communities. What we’re looking for We’re looking for someone who: isan exceptional writer and editor, with strong attention to detail who cantranslate complex information into clear, accessible content isconfident engaging with senior stakeholders, media, and industry bodies hasexperience producing communications for professional or industry audiences isorganised, proactive, and comfortable managing priorities across twoorganisations while bringing sound judgement, discretion, and acollaborative mindset hasexperience with digital channels, social media, and web content management ideallyhas a relevant qualification in communications, journalism, publicrelations, or similar, and 3+ years’ experience Experience in the transport sector, electrotechnology/ITsector, vocational education, or government environments is a plus — but notessential.
