Mitre 10 MEGA Tauranga is looking for an energetic, people-focused leader to take ownership of our busy Trade Drive Thru Department. This is an opportunity to lead from the front in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You'll be responsible for developing a high-performing team, driving operational excellence, championing Health & Safety, and ensuring our trade and retail customers receive outstanding service every day. Working closely with the Store Management Team, you'll play a key leadership role within the business and have the opportunity to influence team culture, performance, and customer outcomes. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) and includes one weekend day. What You'll Be Responsible For Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach and inspire a diverse team to achieve outstanding results. Create a positive, high-performance culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and customer service. Manage team performance, provide regular coaching and feedback, and support ongoing training and development. Build capability within the team and identify future leaders through succession planning. Health & Safety Leadership Champion a strong safety-first culture where everyone goes home safely every day. Lead by example in all Health & Safety practices and ensure compliance with company policies and legislation. Identify risks, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and promote proactive safety behaviours across the department. Ensure the Drive Thru operates safely and efficiently for both customers and team members. Customer & Operational Excellence Deliver an exceptional customer experience for both trade and retail customers. Ensure stock, systems, and processes are managed effectively to support smooth daily operations. Drive productivity, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the department. Monitor stock control, inventory accuracy, and order fulfilment standards. What We're Looking For We're seeking a leader who can bring people together, drive engagement, and create a high-performing, safety-focused team environment. You will ideally have: Proven experience leading and developing teams in a retail, trade, warehousing, logistics, or customer-focused environment. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold others accountable. A genuine passion for Health & Safety and experience promoting safe work practices. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities. Experience with stock management, operational planning, and performance management. A full New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence (forklift licence advantageous). Knowledge of building supplies, timber, hardware, or trade products is beneficial, but not essential.
