Driver (Part-Time) – Oamaru WasteCo is looking for a reliable and safety-focused Driver to join our Oamaru team on a part-time basis. This role offers a minimum of 24 hours per week and is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating machinery, and providing excellent service to customers. About the Role As a Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection and transportation of waste and recycling materials. You'll operate a range of vehicles and equipment while ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard. The role reports to the Operations Manager and works closely with our Solid Waste team. Key Responsibilities Operate rear loader, side loader and gantry trucks Complete waste and recycling collections safely and efficiently Conduct daily vehicle pre-start checks and logbook entries Provide excellent customer service and address collection issues promptly Complete required paperwork accurately Attend toolbox meetings and maintain a strong safety focus Assist with general labouring duties as required Occasionally travel to Timaru for operational requirements What You'll Bring Full Class 1, 2 and 4 Driver Licences A positive, friendly attitude and strong work ethic Good communication and customer service skills Ability to work safely and follow procedures Basic computer or iPad skills are advantageous Experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential Why Join WasteCo?
