About the Role We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Service Development Lead to join our Supply Chain team supporting the Capital & Coast, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa districts. Reporting to the District Supply Chain Manager, this role provides regional service leadership and coordination across supply chain operations, with a strong focus on inventory management, customer service excellence, asset tracking, service improvement, and operational consistency across the region. You will play a key role in identifying opportunities to improve performance, standardise processes, deliver efficiencies, and support the development of a modern, sustainable supply chain service that meets the needs of Health New Zealand's staff and patients. Key responsibilities include: Leading and coordinating supply chain service development initiatives across the region and identifying opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies across supply chain functions. Developing and supporting implementation of inventory management and inventory control improvements. Supporting the transition to enhanced asset tracking across service-based inventories. Producing project plans, monitoring progress, and delivering service improvement outcomes. Working collaboratively with operational teams to implement consistent inventory management practices across districts. Acting as a subject matter resource on ERP systems and supply chain processes Supporting inventory optimisation, stock control, stocktake processes, and supply continuity. Facilitating stakeholder engagement and communicating regional and national supply chain strategies. About the Team The Procurement, Supply Chain and Health Technology Management (PSC&HTM) function plays a critical role in enabling equitable and sustainable healthcare by ensuring staff have the right resources available at the right time. The Supply Chain team supports clinical and operational services across the region through effective inventory management, distribution, logistics, and service delivery. About You You are a highly organised supply chain professional with experience leading operational improvement initiatives and driving service development. You enjoy solving complex problems, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, and delivering practical solutions that improve efficiency and customer outcomes. You will bring: A relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. At least five years' experience in supply chain, inventory management, logistics, or distribution operations. Demonstrated experience using ERP systems to manage inventory and supply chain processes. Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting capabilities as well as strong project coordination and service improvement experience. Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management skills The ability to manage ambiguity, adapt to change, and prioritise competing demands alongside strong process improvement, problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
