About the Role As a Registered Health Clinician with Manaaki Kakano and He Tupua Waiora, you will work within a specialist multidisciplinary team providing assessment, treatment, care coordination and therapeutic support to wāhine kōpū, parents, infants and whānau experiencing mental health, addiction and other complex challenges. You will deliver evidence-based, culturally safe care that recognises the importance of attachment, infant development, wellbeing and whānau strengths during pregnancy and the early years of life. This is a unique opportunity to work across the perinatal and infant mental health space, partnering with whānau, maternity services, primary care, community providers and social agencies to achieve positive outcomes for parents and pēpi. Every day brings variety, from comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments and therapeutic interventions through to care coordination, advocacy and collaborative planning that supports whānau wellbeing and resilience. Our Manaaki Kakano (Maternal Infant Mental Health Service) and He Tupua Waiora (Pregnancy and Parenting Service) teams provide specialist support for wāhine, parents, infants and whānau across Te Tai Tokerau. We work closely with maternity services, mental health and addiction services, iwi providers, primary care and community organisations to deliver integrated, whānau-focused care that promotes healthy development and strong beginnings for pēpi. For more information on living and working in Northland click here About you As a Registered Health Clinician, you will be passionate about supporting whānau to achieve positive outcomes and committed to delivering culturally safe, evidence-based care. Registered health professional such as Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work with a current practising certificate, or hold DAPAANZ registration At least two years experience providing therapeutic interventions within mental health and/or addiction services Experience working with whānau Māori and a strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in healthcare Knowledge of perinatal mental health, infant development, attachment and bonding, or a strong interest in this specialist area Excellent relationship-building, communication and assessment skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and across community networks Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
