The role |Tetūnga Join our Technology Services - Outputs Technical Delivery team as a Senior Systems Engineer in this permanent Wellington-based role, reporting to the Technology Delivery Manager. You'll play a key role in designing, implementing, administering and continuously improving the critical infrastructure platforms and services that support our business operations and public-facing systems. Working across a complex hybrid environment, you'll be responsible for ensuring enterprise systems are secure, available, resilient and high performing. You'll lead technical design activities, support cloud and on-premises platforms, drive automation and operational improvements, and contribute to strategic technology initiatives that enable reliable digital services. This role also provides the opportunity to mentor others, champion best practice in infrastructure and security, and influence the future direction of our technology services. You'll be an experienced infrastructure professional with strong expertise across hybrid infrastructure, cloud technologies, automation, server platforms and security practices, along with a passion for delivering reliable and secure technology services. Ideally, you'll have: Proven experience designing, operating and supporting highly available, secure and scalable enterprise systems. Strong experience managing hybrid infrastructure environments, including Microsoft Azure and on-premises platforms. Expertise across Windows and Linux server technologies, virtualisation and infrastructure services. Experience with automation, CI/CD pipelines, source control and continuous improvement practices. Strong security capability, including vulnerability management, system hardening, monitoring and incident response. Advanced IIS administration skills, including website deployment, SSL certificate management, performance tuning and security configuration. Excellent problem-solving skills, sound technical judgement, and the ability to translate business needs into effective technical solutions. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative approach and a willingness to share knowledge and mentor others.
