Job Description Due to ongoing growth, our Dunedin-based finance team are on the search for aSenior Financial Accountant. Based at our Dunedin city office, this role will support the Superintendent—Financial Control in delivering accurate and timely financial accounting, statutory reporting, tax compliance, audit, and regulatory outcomes for OceanaGold New Zealand. As part of aSOX-compliant listed entity, the role will have also have clear ownership of key financial controls, including control operation, evidence quality, issue remediation, and ongoing uplift of accounting processes, systems, andreporting. Working a 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off, 7 : 00 am – 4 : 30 pm roster, this is agreat opportunity to start or continue your career in the exciting mining industry. If you have strong technical accounting capabilities, and are acollaborative, resilient and delivery-focused individual, Contribute to month-end close activities, including preparation, posting, and review of journals in Pronto (ERP) for New Zealandentities. Support management accounting teams with financial accounting input, close-related analysis, and reporting support to improve the quality and consistency of site and operational finance information. Prepare and review complex transactions and accounting models, ensuring appropriate technical accounting treatment, supporting calculations, and clear documentation of key assumptions. Review and support balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely completion and certification in Blackline in collaboration with relevant finance teammembers. Support income tax calculations, provisions, filings and related workpapers, including coordination with Group Tax and external advisors asrequired. Serve as akey finance contributor to systems upgrades, process improvements, and control enhancements. Own, operate, monitor, and continuously improve key financial controls across end-to-end accounting processes, ensuring they are clearly evidenced, auditable, and aligned with SOX requirements, Group control frameworks, external audit expectations, and practical businessoperations. Operate as asenior technical resource within the financi-team. Qualifications Bachelor of Commerce (Accountancy orequivalent). Full and current driverlicence. Unrestricted and immediate New Zealand work rights / Visa is required for thisrole. Experience More than five years’ experience in financial accounting within alarge or complex organisation. Extensive hands-on experience in month-end close, financial accounting, income tax compliance, balance sheet governance, and internal control ownership within alarge, complex, or listed organisation. Demonstrated experience operating in aSOX, listed-company, or equivalent control environment, including preparing audit-ready evidence, supporting control testing, and remediating controlgaps. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex reconciliations, financial modelling, data analysis, pivot tables, and use of formulas to support statutory reporting, audit deliverables, and management requirements. Experience with ERP and consolidation systems (Pronto, OneStream, orsimilar). Experience supporting finance transformation, reporting improvement, or process uplift initiatives across management accounting or operational financeteams. Desirable: Experience in extractive, industrial, or asset-intensive environments.
