Job Description
Operations Supervisor - New Plymouth Recovery At EnviroNZ, we live by our values - we're respectful, we look after each other, act with honesty, and put safety above all else! Speaking of honesty - working around waste isn't glamorous, but the team is something else. You'll be working with a great bunch of people, running a tight ship and being trusted to get on with the job. Now that’s a different story. We’re looking for an Operations Supervisor to join our New Plymouth Recovery team. This is a hands‑on role where you'll lead a close-knit team, keep the site running safely and step up when things don’t go to plan. What you'll be doing You'll be hands‑on and right in the middle of the action. You'll: Lead and motivate a diverse team, making sure everyone knows what's expected and works well together Keep the operation moving, solving problems and making decisions when things don't go to plan Make sure the team follows our safety requirements, processes and SOPs - no cutting corners Keep an eye on the site, waste processing, plant and equipment to make sure everything is safe and running as it should Jump on the machinery when needed and help out wherever the team needs you Deal with customers on site and make sure they're looked after and kept safe What we're looking for You don't need to know every machine inside and out - we can train you. What matters more is how you think, lead and respond when things get thrown at you. You’ll bring: Experience supervising or leading a team, ideally in a hands-on operational environment Experience working with people from different backgrounds, personalities and levels of capability A Class 2 licence with a Tracks endorsement, F endorsement would be a bonus Experience operating machinery such as diggers, loaders or material handlers A practical, proactive approach - you see something that needs sorting and get onto it The ability to make good decisions under pressure and use common sense and logic The confidence to hold people accountable and have the conversations needed when standards aren't being met A genuine focus on safety and doing things properly, even when the shortcut looks easier If you're a capable, switched-on supervisor who enjoys working with people and wants to be trusted to run the floor, we'd like to hear from you. The successful applicant will need to complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment (including drugs test) and a satisfactory Ministry of Justice criminal records check. #J-18808-Ljbffr
