Work for a top-notch brand in the business insurance space across 26 countries with 11000 employees worldwide New position created for the New Zealand Team Technology leadership across cross functional teams without direct people management, mentoring them, influencing and driving them. Able to work with modern technology, high visibility role Drive & Lead DevSecOps & platform strategy and enterprise engineering standards Contract role with initial 6 months with a possibility of extension Immediate joining preferred 37.5hours per week for work life balance Benefits Flexible & hybrid (3days a week from office; 2 anchor days as per discussion with Manager) Flexible work environment with work from home options Auckland CBD based Rate: negotiable for a good fit based on experience, open to talk The role: Reporting to the Practice Manager – DevSecOps & Engineering (AUNZ), dotted line reporting to Head of Platforms, responsible for designing and implementing end to end DevSecOps & Automation Solutions, collaborating with respective stakeholders and teams (Platform, Delivery, Testing, Release) to define, design and implement target state SDLC workflow and CICD pipelines including Code Management, Quality and App Security. Mentor teams to uplift DevSecOps and modern engineering skills and competency. Percentage wise 40%: Leadership: Should be able to influence, achieve buy-ins with senior decion makers, stakeholder management, change management, mentoring teams, driving cross functional teams, strong personality, providing reports, discussing with GM-IT and CEO to drive best practices. 50%: Technical hands on: DevSecOps, end to end DevSecOps & Cloud automation, best practices in Source code management, Code Quality, Application Security, deployment and release controls. 10%: New Market Trends: AI leverage, upto date with current market trends in AI in SDLC and Agentic AI capabilities. 1st 3 months success measure : Identification of immediate core challenges (SDLC related, incidents going to protection, source code management, quality & security testing) and implement solutioning. Long term – Driving long term upliftment of engineering standards The ideal candidate DevSecOps , Azure, Azure DevOps , CICD pipelines & integrations (non-negotiable) Sonarqube preferred , open to other equivalent security tools. Any security tooling & testing is okay (They also use Mend & Fortify but open to any other equivalent tools as well). Development, Infrastructure, automation or platform background. Microsoft tech stack preferred. AI experience (even if it is with personal projects). Certifications – good to have but not mandatory. Should be based in Auckland or be able to relocate to Auckland (3days from office – 2 anchor days mandatory). Insurance, Banking, Financial Domain (preferred but not mandatory). Why this role?
