The Role | Te mahi We are seeking a flexible and reliable Kitchen Hand to join our friendly kitchen team in Sudima Christchurch City Hotel. This is a part time role with minimum 5 hours per week paying $25 per hour. Responsibilities | Nga haepapa Wash and clean utensils and dishes, and make sure they are stored appropriately Handle, sort, store and distribute food items Wash, peel, chop, cut and cook foodstuffs, and help prepare salads and desserts Sort and dispose of rubbish and recycling Organise laundering of kitchen linen Clean food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools or areas. Follow and enforce strict health and hygiene standards Help to maintain a climate of smooth and friendly cooperation Display the company values of We Care, We Do the right Thing and We Work Together in all that you do Responsibilities | Ngā haepapa Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Produce excellent quality dishes to brand standards for the restaurant, bar, conferencing and room service on a day to day basis Organizing the shift, placing orders, prep completion and supporting the team to ensure the kitchen is always well prepared, clean and hygienic for each shift Support the Head Chef and where appropriate guide junior kitchen team members Offer flexibility with dietary needs and ensure excellent food hygiene and safety standard are adhered to Foster a great team environment of cooperation and respect between co-workers Planning menus, estimating food and labor costs, and ordering food supplies.
