About us Hāpaitia is a subsidiary of the eight Industry Skills Boards (ISBs) and provides shared services including People & Culture, Finance, IT, Business Systems, Payroll, and Administration. We support the ISBs to deliver high-quality vocational education outcomes for Aotearoa New Zealand. The nature of the position We are seeking an experienced Senior Data & Solutions Analyst to help design and deliver data-driven solutions that support quality assurance, qualification development, workforce planning, and strategic decision-making across the vocational education system. In this role, you will work closely with ISB stakeholders to understand their operational priorities, data challenges, and emerging opportunities. You will apply your analytical expertise to transform complex datasets into meaningful insights, dashboards, tools, and products that support evidence-based decision-making. You will also contribute to the ongoing development of the Shared Data Platform and help maintain analytical and forecasting tools used across the ISB network. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical capability with excellent stakeholder engagement skills and enjoys translating complex information into practical solutions that make a real difference. What you’ll bring Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to understand business challenges and translate them into practical data solutions Strong experience analysing, preparing, and managing complex datasets Proven experience developing dashboards, analytical products, reporting tools, or insight solutions Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Python, R, Stata, SAS, or a similar programming language Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to non-technical audiences Experience working with sensitive data and applying privacy and confidentiality principles A tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in data analytics, statistics, data management, or a related discipline Experience working with the Stats NZ Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI), vocational education, labour market, or workforce data desirable Join a collaborative, values-driven organisation supporting a critical part of New Zealand's vocational education system.
