About the Role Te Whare Manaaki is a Medium Secure Forensic Unit, whichprovides specialist care for people who, as a result of a mental illness, haveseriously offended or are assessed as being at high risk of serious offending.Priding itself on a sustained commitment to quality improvement, the ForensicMental Health Service is a fulfilling and dynamic environment to work in. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along witha caring and compassionate nature, will see you excel in this area. We prideourselves on working collaboratively as a team and in partnership with tangatawhaiora and their family/whānau. This role will see you working under the direction anddelegation of an allied health staff member as part of the widermultidisciplinary team, with a primary focus on supporting the delivery of thetherapeutic activity programme. You will support tangata whaiora to accessleave for meaningful activities, build confidence and independence, and developthe skills and routines that support rehabilitation and transition back intothe community. You will also assist allied health staff with a range of tasksthat contribute to rehabilitation and discharge planning, communityreintegration, and a positive experience for tangata whaiora during their timeon the ward.
