BLENNZ Hamilton is looking for a dynamic, innovative and experienced teacher with current Teacher Registration and up-to-date knowledge of the NZ Curriculum and / or Te Whāriki to support the education of ākonga with vision impairments, aged from birth to 21 years. About the role As an RTV, you will work collaboratively with schools, whānau, and transdisciplinary teams to ensure that ākonga with vision impairments have equitable access to the curriculum and school life. Your role will include: Assessing and supporting the educational needs of blind, deafblind and low vision ākonga. Supporting teacher developmentin working with vision-impaired ākonga as inclusive practice. Supporting access to adaptive technologies and learning resources, with openness to learning and professional development in this area. Working successfully as part of a team is a key component of this itinerant position. What we’re looking for We welcome applications from qualified teachers who have: Experience in working with ākonga with vision impairments (desirable, but not essential) Demonstrated ability to develop excellent working relationships with parents, family/whānau and educators.
