About the Role We are seeking an organised and proactive Inventory Controller Wards to join our Supply Chain team in Hawke's Bay. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of ward and sub-inventory management across the hospital. You will be responsible for maintaining optimal stock levels, minimising inventory discrepancies, and supporting the continuity of clinical services through the effective management of ward stock, asset-tracked inventory, and replenishment processes. Working closely with Clinical Product Coordinators, Purchasing, Warehouse Inventory Controllers, Charge Nurses, and ward staff, you will help ensure the right products are available at the right time to support patient care. Key responsibilities include: Managing ward and sub-inventory areas to ensure high stock availability and supply continuity as well as monitoring stock levels, forecasting demand, and identifying inventory trends, risks, and inefficiencies. Supporting ward stock room and sub-inventory projects, moves, and process improvements. Producing inventory usage and spend reports for clinical leaders and managers and conducting inventory audits and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring sub-inventory areas remain organised and compliant. Building strong working relationships with Charge Nurses, Clinical Nurse Managers,ward teams and providing advice and support to staff regarding inventory management processes and requirements. About the Team The Distribution team supports the delivery of healthcare services across Hawke's Bay by ensuring products and supplies flow efficiently throughout the hospital environment. The team works closely with clinical and operational stakeholders to maintain effective inventory management practices that support excellent patient care. About You You are a customer-focused inventory professional with strong analytical skills and a passion for improving processes. You enjoy working with people, building relationships, and solving problems in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You will bring: Experience in inventory management, stock forecasting, and replenishment processes, this includes strong computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and advanced Excel skills. Experience using inventory, warehouse management, or ERP systems. Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities. Knowledge of supply chain processes, ideally within a healthcare environment. Excellent communication and relationship management skills. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands and work independently. A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. A relevant qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory Management, Business, or a related discipline.
