About the Role Waitematā District Specimen Services has 2 part time vacancies available for a hardworking and reliable person. This position is a great opportunity for a person who either has registrationin (preferred) or is willing to work towards the Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician qualification (MLPAT) in Specimen Services. fully rostered shifts; Monday to Sunday including evening and midnight shifts evening shifts: 1:30pm 10pm; 3:15pm 11:30pm midnight shifts: 11pm 7amday shifts: 6:30am 3pm, 7:30am 4pm, 8am 4:30pm, 9am - 1pm and 10am - 6.30pm and work weekdays, weekends and public holidays at both North Shore Hospital and Waitakere Hospital laboratory (predominantly 8 hour shifts with occasional 4-5 hour short shifts) About Us Health NewZealand Waitematā provides health services to approximately 650,000 residents of the North Shore, Waitakere, and Rodney areas. It has the largest population of any district health area. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: Medical Sciences (MS) Council of New Zealand registration is preferred however candidates working towards registration and APC may be considered NZ residency or NZ citizenship (Preferred) NZ drivers licence Experience and skill in Specimen Services tasks (Preferred) Knowledge of the Delphic Explorer application is an advantage Ability to cover service delivery hours weekdays, weekends and public holidays Ability to work at North Shore and Waitakere Hospital Laboratory campus Additionally, youll be self-motivated, able to multitask and work with minimum supervision, have excellent data entry skill and accuracy, work calmly under pressure, listen and communicate effectively, deal with a wide range of people in a sensitive manner, and be able to follow procedures and instructions with a high level of attention to detail.
