The Role Are you a printing enthusiast with a passion for delivering the latest news and captivating stories to readers across the South Island? Look no further! We're seeking a talented and dedicated individual to join our Christchurch print plant as a Day Shift Printer. At our state-of-the-art facility, we produce high-quality newspapers and magazines that inform, inspire, and engage readers every single day. As a Day Shift Printer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our publications are flawlessly printed and ready to hit the streets, leaving a lasting impact on communities across Canterbury and beyond. What You'll Do Operate and maintain our cutting-edge printing machinery to produce newspapers and magazines of exceptional quality. Monitor printing processes, making adjustments to ensure optimal results and prevent potential issues. Collaborate closely with our production team, contributing to efficient workflow management and meeting tight deadlines. Conduct regular quality checks to guarantee our publications meet industry standards and exceed customer expectations. Troubleshoot and resolve minor technical glitches, keeping printing operations running smoothly. Uphold safety protocols and maintain a clean, organised workspace. What You'll Bring Previous experience operating printing machinery, ideally within the newspaper or magazine industry. Familiarity with different printing techniques and troubleshooting common issues is a plus. Strong technical skills to operate and maintain printing equipment. Knowledge of printing software and computer-assisted printing systems is advantageous. A keen eye for detail to ensure accurate colour reproduction, precise registration, and overall print quality. The ability to think on your feet, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams. Consistent availability and a strong work ethic to meet strict deadlines and manage unexpected challenges.
