Job Description
SYOS is a fast-growing global robotics and aerospace company developing uncrewed systems across air, land and sea for dual-use applications. We’re looking for an experienced Senior Mechatronics Engineer to take ownership of complex engineering challenges across the design, integration and testing of our autonomous platforms. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll work across mechanical, electrical, embedded software and systems engineering, turning concepts into reliable, field‑ready products. You’ll also play an important role in mentoring junior engineers and helping lift the technical capability of the wider team. What You’ll Do Lead the design, development and integration of mechatronic and embedded systems. Translate system requirements into practical engineering solutions. Develop and integrate sensors, actuators, controllers and embedded systems. Design, prototype, test and troubleshoot complex systems. Develop and integrate embedded software, including C/C++. Lead technical workstreams and solve complex engineering problems. Collaborate across Mechanical, Electrical, Software, GNC and Systems teams. Review designs and provide technical guidance to other engineers. Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing knowledge and engineering best practice. Contribute to engineering standards, processes and continuous improvement. Maintain clear technical documentation and development records. What You’ll Bring 5+ years' relevant engineering experience, ideally in robotics, aerospace, defence, autonomous systems or a similar environment. Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Software, Computer Systems Engineering or a related discipline. Strong experience with mechatronic and embedded systems. Practical C/C++ development experience. Strong understanding of hardware/software integration and system‑level testing. Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems and work independently. Experience mentoring or technically supporting junior engineers. Strong communication and collaboration skills. A hands‑on, practical approach and genuine passion for robotics, aerospace and autonomous systems. Why SYOS?
