Job Description
About The Role We’re looking for a Vegetation Spray Operator to join our team maintaining Auckland’s beautiful parks and reserves. This is an autonomous role, perfect for someone who enjoys working independently or in small teams. You’ll be responsible for vegetation control using herbicides and manual methods, ensuring our open spaces remain safe and well-maintained. Location Mt Wellington Hours Monday to Friday 7am to 3.30pm Key Responsibilities Include Carrying out vegetation control across Auckland parks and reserves Operating and maintaining spray equipment Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards Self-managing daily tasks and working effectively alone or in small groups What We’re Looking For Full Class 1 driver’s licence (manual and automatic) – essential Experience in spraying or vegetation control is preferred, but not required – a great attitude and willingness to learn are key Understanding of spray techniques, equipment, and safety protocols is beneficial Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule Experience operating small vehicle such as ATV are also an advantage What We Offer Health plans with Southern cross and other benefits Supportive team environment Opportunities for training and development Work outdoors in a role that offers variety and autonomy Applications close on 24 Aug at 5 pm About Ventia As a leading services provider, we maintain, operate, and manage the essential infrastructure that makes modern life possible across Australia and New Zealand.
