What You'll Be Involved In As part of the Clinical Education and Training Unit (CETU), you'll have opportunities to: Deliver and enhance PGY1 and PGY2 education programmes Mentor, support, and advocate for prevocational House Officers Lead quality improvement and service development initiatives Participate in research projects and present findings at relevant forums Collaborate with clinical leaders and senior stakeholders across the organisation Act as a key connection between House Officers and educational leadership teams Network and collaborate with Medical Education Fellows across NewZealand Who We're Looking For We're seeking an enthusiastic and motivated doctor who is passionate about education, leadership, and supporting others to succeed. You will ideally have: A current Annual Practising Certificate with the Medical Council of New Zealand Full MCNZ registration (endorsement removed) or be working at Registrar level Experience or a strong interest in teaching, coaching, mentoring, or medical education Leadership, project management, coordination, or quality improvement experience Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills The ability to influence positive change and inspire others Strong organisational and time‑management skills A proactive, adaptable, and solutions‑focused approach An interest in research, innovation, and continuous improvement A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity in healthcare education A passion for developing future doctors and improving patient care What You'll Gain This role provides an outstanding platform for doctors interested in pursuing future careers in: Medical Education Clinical Leadership Health Management Workforce Development Quality Improvement Academic Medicine You’ll gain hands‑on experience in educational leadership while making a genuine difference to the training experience of junior doctors across one of NewZealand's busiest and most dynamic health environments.
