Registered Nurse, Tarawera Medical Centre I Permanent, 24 hours per week Ko wai mātou I About us Tarawera Medical Centre was established in 1989 and is situated in the heart of Kawerau providing general medical support to over 4,000 enrolled patients. Tarawera Medical Centre plays a pivotal role in supporting the Kawerau hapori with health and wellbeing. In March 2024, the practice was purchased by Te Puna Manawa o Tarawera, a joint partnership between Te Puna Ora o Mātaatua, Ngāti Tūwharetoa BOP Settlement Trust and Green Cross Health. We manaaki, look after or care for, our patients and the community that we serve each day, and this underpins all that we do. You will join a team of highly skilled medical practitioners who utilise a holistic approach to provide support for our patients. Your scope of practice will include triaging, providing patient interventions, treatment plans, and nursing care and support. Nga pūkenga me whai I Your skills and experience So you can hit the ground running, we’d hope you would have most of the following skills: Experience working as a Practice Nurse Authorised Vaccinator (preferred but not essential) Smear Taker Certified (preferred but not essential) Working knowledge of Medtech32, or any other Practice Management System (preferred but not essential) The ability to engage meaningfully with whānau Practice cultural competency and cultural safety Knowledge and or willingness to learn Te Reo me ona tikanga You will have the added benefit of working in our team of highly competent, mana-enhancing nurses and GPs.
