An Internal promotion and clear growth trajectory with key global customers mean this finance leadership role provides an excellent career opportunity for a rising finance leader. This Gisborne-based Group Financial Controller role will be well suited to a commercially savvy, growth focused finance leader. Corson is a family owned 100-year legacy business that has long been recognised for producing high-quality maize for food ingredients. They were founded and continue to be grounded in Gisborne, but from there they reach far. They have real market strength, with operations in both NZ and Australia. Their close relationships with major FMCG customers see their finished product sitting as the base of many household food brands across Australasia. Over the last 3 years the business has been in a recovery and reinvestment phase. They have invested in a new mill which is due to be commissioned later this year and implemented new accounting systems and process across the group focused on a digital future; so this is a great time to be joining the business. As Group Financial Controller, you will provide the commercial and finance leadership to help steer them through their next phase of growth. You will lead the key aspects of financial management, reporting, compliance, cash flow management, risk and financial planning across the New Zealand and Australia operations. You will engage with operational leaders across the business to support business performance and profitability through providing meaningful financial insights and recommendations. This is a hands-on role, leading a small transactional finance and customer service team where you will oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for the group – ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for the board and shareholders. To be considered, you must be CA or CPA qualified with a strong knowledge of IFRS financial reporting standards, taxation and compliance. As well as proficiency in management accounting principles including pricing, revenue analysis and inventory cost analysis. Along with your strong technical expertise, you will need a big-picture mentality, be commercially astute and be comfortable challenging the status quo. An understanding of the complexities of manufacturing-based environments will be a real advantage here. You may already be in a finance leadership role, or at the point in your career where a step up to a role like this is your next career challenge. There is a genuine pathway here for the right person. Roles of this commercial nature are rare in Gisborne, you will be joining a great team with a huge commitment to growth and development.
