About the Role We are seeking an experienced and dynamic registered nurse to join our Office of the Chief Nurse team as a Duty Nurse Manager (DNM). This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for providing 24-hour operational coordination, clinical leadership, patient flow management, and resource allocation across Gisborne Hospital. As Duty Nurse Manager, you will coordinate staffing resources, support safe and effective patient care, manage organisational risk after hours, and provide leadership during emergency and incident responses. You will work collaboratively with nursing, medical, allied health and operational teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and positive outcomes for patients and whānau. For more information on living and working in Gisborne click hereMore information about our Region see here About you Current New Zealand Registered Nurse Annual Practising Certificate (APCNZQA Postgraduate Diploma (or equivalent) PDRP Expert or Designated Senior Nurse level At least five years of recent clinical experience with leadership responsibilities such as shift coordination or clinical leadership. Strong clinical leadership, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and communication skills. Knowledge of Care Capacity Demand Management (CCDM) and patient acuity tools. A demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and improving health outcomes for Māori. The ability to prioritise effectively, manage competing demands, and lead confidently in complex and challenging situations.
