The opportunity We are seeking an experienced, forward-thinking educational leader to join the senior leadership team as deputy principal (curriculum), commencing Term 1 2027 or by mutual agreement. The role leads curriculum strategy, assessment, reporting and the effective use of academic data across Years 1–8, ensuring every boy experiences a rigorous, connected and developmentally appropriate curriculum. The deputy principal (curriculum) oversees curriculum planning and review, assessment systems, academic reporting, curriculum documentation and evidence-informed improvement. They will lead heads of department and curriculum leads, translating curriculum intent into strong classroom practice. The successful candidate will demonstrate proven curriculum leadership, including development, implementation, review and improvement; the ability to set direction, lead curriculum teams and translate strategy into practice; and a commitment to academic excellence, continuous improvement and evidence-informed decision-making. Applicants will have strong knowledge of curriculum design, assessment, reporting, academic data and student achievement analysis, together with excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills. A teaching qualification, current New Zealand teacher registration and a university degree are essential; postgraduate study is desirable.
