About The Role We are looking for a Tree Officer to join our Vegetation team. This is a varied role where you'll play a key role in keeping our network safe and reliable by managing vegetation around power lines, working with landowners and customers, and supporting field crews to deliver high-quality outcomes. About The Role We are looking for a Tree Officer to join our Vegetation team. This is a varied role where you'll play a key role in keeping our network safe and reliable by managing vegetation around power lines, working with landowners and customers, and supporting field crews to deliver high-quality outcomes. You'll patrol network areas to identify vegetation risks, negotiate tree agreements with property owners, issue notices and quotations, and ensure compliance with the Electricity (Hazards from Trees) Regulations 2003. You'll also support training and coaching of field staff, carry out workplace audits, assist with work scheduling, and promote safe work practices across the business. This role offers a great mix of field-based and office-based work, giving you the opportunity to build strong relationships with customers, contractors, local authorities, and operational teams while helping deliver critical services to our communities. About You You'll be someone who enjoys working outdoors, building relationships, and finding practical solutions. You're safety-conscious, organised, and comfortable balancing technical, regulatory, and customer-facing responsibilities. To be successful, you'll have: Arboriculture qualifications Certificate in Electrical Supply (Vegetation Control) or willingness to obtain Experience working around electrical distribution networks Chainsaw experience Sound knowledge of arboriculture and vegetation management practices Understanding of the Electricity (Hazards from Trees) Regulations 2003 A full New Zealand driver's licence (heavy vehicle licence advantageous) Strong communication and negotiation skills Good computer and administration skills A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety The ability to build strong relationships with customers, landowners, contractors, and colleagues If you're passionate about vegetation management, enjoy working with people, and want to be part of a team that keeps communities connected, we'd love to hear from you.
