Mō tēnei tūranga - about the role. At Fire and Emergency NZ we're building a more deliberate, transparent and consistent approach to identifying and developing future leaders. We're looking for a senior advisor to help drive the implementation of our new framework for talent management and succession planning. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Leadership Development team and play a key role in building the leaders of tomorrow. You will be the conduit between our leaders, the business-as-usual teams responsible for supporting leaders locally and the project team responsible for the ongoing evolution of the framework. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence leadership capability across a large and complex organisation while contributing to strategic people initiatives that will have a lasting impact. This is a fixed-term role from ASAP through to 30th June 2027. What you'll bring to the role: You will be a collaborative senior advisor who enjoys working with a wide range of stakeholders and navigating complex organisational environments. You’ll have a passion for developing leadership strength and organisational capability. Demonstrated experience in talent management, succession planning or organisational development within a large, complex organisation. Strong understanding of contemporary talent management, leadership development and succession planning practices. Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders across all organisational levels. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality outcomes. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide practical recommendations. Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Psychology, Business or a related discipline.
