Job Description

We are partnering with a Tier-1 Mining Asset Owner to source a Project Leader to support the delivery of a critical environmental approvals and consenting projects across a major operational site. Working as part of the project delivery team, you will manage consultant-led studies, technical specialists and internal stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with agreed timeframes, budgets and governance requirements. This is a Monday to Friday position that requires the individual to be based or relocate to Invercargill NZ. Accountabilities Lead the delivery of environmental consent renewal programmes and associated technical studies, from planning through to submission and approval. Take ownership of project activities associated with Air Discharge and Water Discharge consent programmes . Manage and coordinate external consultants, environmental specialists, regulatory advisors and internal stakeholders to achieve project objectives. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, action registers, risk registers and reporting requirements. Manage consultant engagements including scopes of work, contracts, deliverables, performance and commercial administration. Facilitate project meetings, technical workshops, stakeholder engagements and regular progress reviews. Review consultant deliverables, technical reports and supporting documentation to ensure quality, consistency and compliance requirements are met. Monitor project performance, costs, risks, milestones and deliverables, providing accurate and timely reporting to leadership and key stakeholders. Manage monthly invoicing, budget tracking and project cost management activities. Ensure all project activities are delivered in accordance with governance frameworks, regulatory requirements and organisational standards. About You Relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Engineering, Project Management, Planning or a related discipline. 5-10 years' experience across project management, environmental management, engineering, planning or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience delivering environmental, infrastructure, regulatory approvals, resource consenting or similar projects . Proven ability to manage external consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary technical teams. Strong project management capability across planning, scheduling, budgeting, reporting, risk and governance. Experience managing contracts, consultant engagements and commercial administration activities. Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, facilitation and relationship management skills. Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing project requirements. Experience across environmental projects, landfill, waste management or other regulatory-driven programmes will be highly regarded. Join a global organisation with a strong local footprint .
