About the Role Take your musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice into the fast-paced environment of Tauranga Hospitals Emergency Department. Working as a primary contact practitioner, you will assess and manage patients alongside an established ED team while contributing advanced clinical knowledge and education across the service. The role also offers opportunities to expand your scope of practice through skills such as casting, venepuncture, cannulation, and prescribing under standing orders. About the Team/Service/Location Working alongside experienced Physiotherapists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Nurse Practitioners, and Senior Medical Officers as part of an established emergency Department team. Collaboration and shared clinical expertise are central to the service, with strong support for advanced practice, professional development, and growing your capability within the ED environment. Learn more about the Bay of Plenty. About You You are an experienced musculoskeletal Physiotherapist who enjoys clinical challenge, autonomy, and the pace of emergency care. Confident in your clinical judgement and collaborative by nature, you are motivated to extend your practice, share your expertise, and deliver excellent care when it matters most. What you will bring Current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate Strong musculoskeletal physiotherapy experience and advanced clinical assessment skills Confidence working autonomously and making sound clinical decisions Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills An interest in advanced and extended scope physiotherapy practice Ability to contribute to clinical education and development of Allied Health colleagues Flexibility to support a seven-day rostered service Commitment to high-quality, evidence-based patient care Working for Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
