About the Role As a Public Health Nurse, you will deliver public health nursing services across the community. Public health nursing includes assessment of population health, attention to the multiple determinants of health, an emphasis on primary prevention, and continued commitment to best evidence-based public health nursing practice. About the Service The public health nursing team is part of the National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, and work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures for all) by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored. About you Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate Child and whanau health-related experience Ability to work within a team and autonomously An ongoing commitment to professional development A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for underserved whānau and communities Be prepared to work towards, or already be, a whole-of-life authorised vaccinator Demonstrated competence in the application of Māori health models to Nursing practice Proven experience using Patient Management Systems Information Technology An eye for detail and commitment to continuous quality improvement Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability and passion to work with a diverse range of children, young people and their family's whanau. Respectful and responsive to Whaikaha and persons living with disabilities.
