Job Description

Fluent Spanish and English and a technical sales background, building the Americas for a New Zealand manufacturer that leads its world niche. Spanish and English fluency essential International market development and consultative sales The Company Our client is a New Zealand specialist engineering business that has developed proprietary manufacturing technology used by fabrication and industrial customers around the world. The company is expanding its product range and international reach, creating the scale to invest in dedicated sales capability across Latin America and North America. With an established base of market research, customer engagement and active opportunities, the business is now seeking a capable international salesperson to turn that groundwork into sustained commercial growth. The Opportunity This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of an international market. It is a market-development role for someone who enjoys identifying opportunities, opening doors and creating demand for a technical solution that customers may not initially know they need. You will take responsibility for accelerating sales activity across Latin America while also supporting opportunities in the United States and Canada. A pipeline of prospective customers and previous market engagement provides a starting point, and success will depend on your ability to build momentum, develop new relationships and progress complex opportunities through to sale. Fluency in both Spanish and English is essential. The Role The sales process is consultative and commercially focused. You will research prospective customers and identify where their current manufacturing processes may be limiting productivity, capability or profitability. Once engagement begins, you will work with the customer and the wider technical team to develop a tailored business case. Rather than simply presenting machinery or technology, you will demonstrate how the solution will affect the customer’s wider operation, including productivity, labour requirements, manufacturing capability and return on investment. You will need to communicate confidently across several levels of the customer organisation. This may include owners and financial decision-makers, engineers and production managers, as well as the operators who understand the practical realities of the manufacturing process. You do not need to have every technical answer yourself. You do, however, need the judgement and confidence to lead the customer conversation, understand what matters commercially and involve technical specialists at the right time. Key Responsibilities Develop new business across Latin America and support sales activity throughout North America. Re-engage existing prospects and maintain momentum across active opportunities. Research target industries, niche markets and individual manufacturing businesses. Identify production constraints and opportunities before customers have fully defined them. Initiate contact with prospective customers and create interest in the company’s technology. Visit customer manufacturing sites to understand their operations, equipment and commercial priorities. Develop tailored sales presentations and return-on-investment cases. Communicate effectively with owners, directors, engineers, production managers and operators. Manage extended technical sales cycles while maintaining price and margin discipline. Work closely with technical and leadership teams to progress complex opportunities. Maintain accurate and current sales information. Use digital and AI-enabled tools to support research, targeting and customer preparation. Skills and Experience You will be a motivated new-business salesperson. Your background may include capital equipment, industrial automation, steel fabrication, metal processing, CNC machinery, robotic welding, roll forming, mining equipment, structural manufacturing or another technical manufacturing environment. More important than a specific product background will be your ability to understand industrial operations and translate technical capability into a compelling commercial opportunity. You will offer: Fluent written and spoken Spanish and English. Proven business-to-business sales and new-market development capability. Experience selling technical, industrial or capital-investment solutions. Strong outbound prospecting and first-contact engagement skills. The ability to develop commercial and return-on-investment arguments. Confidence engaging with both senior leaders and factory-floor stakeholders. High levels of integrity, personal accountability and sound judgement. The ability to work independently across different cultures and time zones. A willingness to travel throughout Latin and North America. Why Consider This Opportunity? This is not a traditional territory-management or account-maintenance position. You will be joining a specialist technology business moving towards a more structured global commercial model. The role provides the freedom to build markets, influence the company’s sales approach and help establish proprietary New Zealand technology across some of the world’s largest industrial regions. A competitive remuneration is offered and will include a significant commission-linked component, rewarding the successful development and conversion of new business. #J-18808-Ljbffr
