About the Role We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our Emergency Department team at Gisborne Hospital. Working under the direction and delegation of Registered Nurses and other Health Professionals, you will provide high-quality support to patients, whānau and the wider clinical team. The role includes assisting with patient care activities, maintaining a safe and well-functioning clinical environment, supporting patient flow, and undertaking a range of non-clinical tasks that contribute to excellent patient care and service delivery. Position Description: Health Care Assistant ED About the Team/Service/Location The Emergency Department at Gisborne Hospital provides acute care services to the Tairāwhiti community 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will work alongside nursing, medical and allied health professionals to support the delivery of safe, high-quality care in a busy and dynamic environment. Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment. A professional approach with a commitment to confidentiality, patient safety, and quality care. Flexibility, resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning and change. Desirable Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant.
