Our Haematology Research Unit at North Shore Hospital is seeking a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of clinical research, giving patients access to innovative therapies that have the potential to change lives. As a Research Nurse, you will work alongside internationally recognised haematologists, research nurses, study coordinators and global pharmaceutical companies to deliver high-quality clinical trials for patients with blood cancers and other haematological disorders. No two days are the same. You'll combine advanced clinical nursing with research coordination, patient care management and communication across internal teams and sponsors representatives. About the role As a Research Nurse you will: Coordinate multiple clinical trials from start-up through to completion Support screening and enrolment of patients into clinical trials Deliver protocol-specific treatments and clinical assessments Coordinate study visits, investigations and specimen collection Ensure accurate documentation and high-quality clinical data Work closely with Principal Investigators, pharmacists, laboratories and international sponsors Monitor participant safety and advocate for patients throughout their research journey Maintain compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), research ethics and regulatory requirements Contribute to continuous quality improvement within our research programme About you Essential Current New Zealand Registered Nurse Annual Practising Certificate Experience in the acute haematology nursing setting Minimum three years' recent nursing experience in a tertiary healthcare setting Excellent assessment and clinical skills Strong organisational and time management abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills High level of computer literacy Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team Passion for delivering exceptional patient care Highly desirable Previous Research Nurse or Clinical Trials experience Knowledge of clinical trial regulations What we offer The opportunity to work on cutting-edge international clinical trials A supportive and highly experienced multidisciplinary team Ongoing professional development Exposure to innovative cancer treatments and emerging therapies A collaborative and patient-centred working environment Opportunities to develop expertise in clinical research and advanced nursing practice About our team The Haematology Research Unit at North Shore Hospital conducts a broad portfolio of international Phase I-IV clinical trials in: Multiple Myeloma Lymphoma Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia Myeloproliferative Neoplasms Other haematological malignancies Our goal is simple: to provide patients with early access to innovative treatments while contributing to research that improves outcomes worldwide.
