Healthcare Assistant - Women's, Gynae Outpatients Day shifts across Monday – Friday (to be discussedat interview) Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora isfirmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed tobuilding a health system that serves all New Zealanders. About the Role This is a fantastic opportunityfor someone wanting to work in Women’s Health and to help provide a servicesupporting women. We have 3x departments in our Gynaecology OutpatientsService, Gynaecology Procedure Unit, Colposcopy and Hysteroscopy Unit and GynaecologyOutpatient Service. Our services provide care to over 10,000 women a year! Wesee patients referred from GP practices, other specialists and the NationalCervical Screening Programme. We see patients for a range of reasons includingpre/post gynaecology operations, fertility, urogynaecology, gynae oncology,pelvic pain, miscarriage management, difficult contraception insertions,terminations, biopsies, colposcopy and hysteroscopy. We are looking for a HealthcareAssistant to assist nursing and medical staff with patient care whilstmaintaining a safe and clean work environment. Healthcare Assistants are anintegral part of our team and we are looking for candidates who have excellentcommunication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to use their initiative. This is a great opportunity to give back to your community and utiliseyour caring skills/values - manaaki (care) and awhina (help) The role of a Healthcare Assistantvaries from day to day but you will be there to make sure that the service isrunning smoothly and to its highest potential. You will assist the nursing teamwith a variety of tasks on the ward which could include: Keeping the environment tidy and organised Ordering and restocking of supplies Communicating with and supporting patients Assisting and chaperoning doctors and nurses inclinics and procedures Ensuring patient safety and that patients havethe best experience possible Helping the three Gynaecology OutpatientsServices which have the same team/staff that also rotate around the units You will enjoy being busy anddon't mind that the role can be at times be physically demanding. We will workwith the successful candidate around hours of work within a Mon-Fri schedule ata 0.7FTE. About You Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsand the ability to engage well Effective problem solving and decision-makingskills Ability to work efficiently and effectively in amultidisciplinary team Initiative and a proactive approach to work Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork Strong computer skills and administrationexperience would be an advantage Ideally experience as a Healthcare Assistant orsimilar Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuringexcellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
