Permanent, full-time (1 FTE) About the role - Te Kaupapa Whitireia and WelTec have been strategic partners since 2012, delivering a range of career training choices and vast opportunities for schools, kaimahi, and ākonga. The position is based at the Porirua campus and will provide the successful applicant with an opportunity to be part of a committed team who prepare ākonga to practice professionally according to the values and ethics of the Social Workers Registration Board and the Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers. On completion of the programme, ākonga will be eligible to apply for SWRB registration. Responsibilities & Expectations The successful applicant will have the ability and experience to prepare ākonga to work in the fields of family violence, care and protection, policy, and support work promoting well-being and community development. We’re looking for a Social Work educator with teaching experience at a degree level, based in Porirua. Requirements A qualification at least one level higher than the programme being taught Current or eligibility to register with SWRB Teaching experience in Social Work, or in a relevant field at tertiary level Evidence of an ability to work with ākonga and kaimahi from differing academic and cultural backgrounds and at all levels of the institution Current knowing of different practice skills and approaches including Māori and Pacific, social work research and policy, SWRB competencies, ANZASW Ethics and Te Tiriti o Waitangi practice Practice experience as a Social Worker and Educator, able to work individually and be a team player The ability to contribute to the teaching and development of the programme An adult teaching qualification is preferred Working knowledge of Education ICT systems (Moodle, Artena, APlus+) or similar, or the ability to quickly adapt to these types of systems Application Materials A cover letter A CV Names and email addresses of at least two referees Applications close Tuesday, 6 September 2026. #J-18808-Ljbffr
