This is a rare opportunity to join a new and rapidly growing underground mining operation at a foundational stage and play a key role in shaping its future. With site operations underway on the West Coast near Greymouth and strong expansion plans across multiple gold and copper assets, this is your chance to be part of a high-performing team from the ground up. Your contribution will have a direct impact as the operation moves toward full production and beyond. The Role We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Development Charge-Up Operators to join the underground team onsite in Greymouth. This is a permanent, full-time role operating on a 7 days on / 7 days off roster, with some flexibility. Key Responsibilities Charge and blast underground development headings in line with approved blast designs Safely handle, transport, and load explosives and detonators Operate charge-up units and associated underground equipment Interpret drill patterns, blast plans, and development drawings Conduct pre-start inspections and equipment safety checks Ensure compliance with explosives management procedures and legislation Monitor blast performance and identify improvement opportunities Maintain accurate records of explosives usage, inventory, and blast activities Collaborate closely with Jumbo Operators, Supervisors, and Technical Services Contribute actively to a strong and positive safety culture Health, Safety and Environment Uphold duty of care in all aspects of work Promote a "one team" and safety-first culture Comply with all site health and safety systems, regulations, and procedures Report incidents promptly and accurately Adhere to drug and alcohol-free workplace policies Ensure environmental compliance at all times About You Relevant underground mining certifications and competencies Shotfirer qualification (essential) Dangerous Goods handling experience First Aid certification Experience operating underground charge-up equipment Strong knowledge of electronic initiation systems and blast optimisation practices Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices What's on Offer Competitive salary Health insurance Accommodation allowance Be part of a high-growth mining operation from the ground up Strong leadership with extensive industry experience Opportunity to influence operations and contribute to long-term success A role where your impact will be seen and valued Career growth as the business expands across multiple assets IMPORTANT Applicants must have the current right to work in New Zealand (no visa sponsorship available).
