An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Investment Manager to join a growing wholesale fund management business focused on property development, private equity, and alternative investment opportunities.

This is a senior, hands on role offering exposure across capital raising, investor relations, investment management, fund operations, compliance, and business growth. Reporting directly to the Director, you will play a key role in growing funds under management while ensuring strong operational and regulatory oversight.

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of capital raising expertise, an established investor network, strong commercial acumen, and a sound understanding of New Zealand's financial services regulatory framework.

This is a full time, on site position based in Christchurch.

\n Key Responsibilities\n
\n Capital Raising & Investor Relationships\n
\n
    \n
    \n
  • Lead capital raising initiatives across wholesale investment funds
  • \n
    \n
  • Build and maintain relationships with wholesale, professional, institutional, and high net worth investors
  • \n
    \n
  • Leverage existing networks and develop new investor relationships to grow funds under management
  • \n
    \n
  • Develop relationships with advisers, referral partners, and distribution channels
  • \n
    \n
  • Present investment opportunities and manage investor communications
  • \n
    \n
  • Support investor onboarding and wholesale investor verification processes
  • \n
    \n
\n
\n Fund Operations, Risk & Compliance\n
\n
    \n
    \n
  • Oversee the day to day management and operation of wholesale investment funds
  • \n
    \n
  • Monitor investment performance, portfolio risks, and liquidity
  • \n
    \n
  • Ensure compliance with New Zealand regulatory requirements and fund governing documents
  • \n
    \n
  • Support AML/CFT, risk management, governance, and reporting obligations
  • \n
    \n
  • Liaise with external legal, accounting, audit, and fund administration providers
  • \n
    \n
\n
\n Investment Management\n
\n
    \n
    \n
  • Conduct investment analysis, financial modelling, and commercial due diligence
  • \n
    \n
  • Prepare investment recommendations and supporting investment papers
  • \n
    \n
  • Monitor existing investments and recommend strategic actions
  • \n
    \n
  • Contribute to investment strategy, portfolio construction, and new product development
  • \n
    \n
  • Prepare investor and fund performance reports
  • \n
    \n

\n About You\n
\n

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

\n
\n
    \n
    \n
  • A minimum of five years' experience in funds management, investment management, private equity, property investment, wealth management, capital markets, or a related financial services environment
  • \n
    \n
  • Demonstrated success in capital raising and investor relationship management
  • \n
    \n
  • An established network of wholesale, professional, institutional, or high net worth investors
  • \n
    \n
  • Strong knowledge of New Zealand's wholesale investment framework and relevant financial services legislation
  • \n
    \n
  • Experience with AML/CFT requirements, investor onboarding, and compliance processes
  • \n
    \n
  • Strong financial analysis, modelling, and commercial due diligence skills
  • \n
    \n
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • \n
    \n
  • High levels of integrity, professionalism, and commercial judgement
  • \n
    \n
  • Full working rights in New Zealand
  • \n
    \n
\n
\n

Mandarin language skills are not essential for this position but would be considered an advantage.

\n Remuneration\n
\n
    \n
    \n
  • Base salary of approximately $130,000 to $150,000 depending on experience
  • \n
    \n
  • Uncapped performance incentives linked to capital raising and business growth objectives
  • \n
    \n
  • Estimated total package of around $170,000 for a successful performer
  • \n
    \n
