With our continued national expansion, we are looking for a motivated, results-oriented Accountant. About the role Reporting directly to the Head of Accounting, you will provide critical financial and administrative support to our finance team. This role is the vital link between our retail stores, the facility team, and the head office finance department. You will be responsible for ensuring the absolute accuracy of our daily sales records across a variety of platforms, and maintaining the integrity of our financial data through meticulous bookkeeping and journal preparation. If you love a good reconciliation and thrive in a varied, hands-on role, this is for you! Key Responsibilities Cash Book Management: Maintain and reconcile Cash Books for mall and regular stores. Prepare timely monthly sales figures for mall management reporting. Digital Sales Administration: Manage the monthly transfer of sales generated by St Pierres Online and Gift Cards. Register and administer digital payment platforms including Afterpay, UberEats, and Door Dash. Deposit Verification: Conduct regular, detailed checks on cash deposits to ensure store banking perfectly matches internal records. Invoicing: Manage invoicing and Cash Book entries for building and other operational entities. Supplier Support: Assist with accurate data entry for supplier payments to ensure timely settlements. Document Control: Sort dockets, delivery notes, and invoices for individual shops to maintain highly organized and accurate audit trails. Reporting & Month-End Support Journal Preparation: Prepare monthly Journal Entry Excel files, and seamlessly import/process data into our accounting software. Phase 1 (End of month): Finalise stock take data and specific internal Excel reporting. Phase 2 (Early following month): Reconcile produce accounts and wage data. Fee Calculation: Calculate Promotion and Management fees chargeable by head office to all relevant stores. Import/Export: Support monthly accounting processes for Import/Export activities and miscellaneous accounts. Expense Management Facility Team Liaison: Coordinate with and support the Facilities Team to verify invoices against operational delivery. Staff Expense Management: Process and meticulously reconcile staff expenses, Area Manager expense accounts, and credit card statements. Director & Company Cards: Coordinate and account for the monthly payment process for Directors' and Company credit cards. Stakeholder Collaboration Data & Reporting: Provide the Head of Accounting with organized, high-quality financial data to support executive decision-making. Tax & Audit Preparation: Collaborate closely with the Head of Accounting to prepare and finalise accounts for tax auditing. This includes managing Fixed Asset schedules, Term Deposit reconciliations, year-end journal entries, and intercompany balance reconciliations. The successful applicant must: A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3 - 5 years of proven experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or Finance Officer role (retail or hospitality industry experience is a major plus!). Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills , with a high level of comfort processing large sets of data. A highly analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders. A proactive, problem-solving attitude and the ability to meet strict month-end deadlines.
