Are you an experienced CNC Machinist who enjoys complex, custom machining rather than repetitive production work? We're seeking a skilled CNC Machinist / Programmer to join a well-established engineering business - based in Tauranga. This role offers diverse and challenging work, taking projects from engineering drawings through to finished precision components. Working across a variety of industries, you'll be machining predominantly engineering plastics, along with composite materials and metals, using modern CNC equipment and technology. Key Responsibilities: Program CNC machines from engineering drawings Create and optimise CAM programs Set up and operate CNC milling and turning machines Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances Conduct quality inspections and verify finished parts Select appropriate tooling and machining strategies Troubleshoot machining and programming issues Collaborate with engineers and production teams Maintain high standards of safety and workshop housekeeping To succeed in this role, you'll ideally have: Proven CNC programming experience Strong experience with CNC milling and turning The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Excellent understanding of machining principles and tolerances Experience using CAM software A proactive approach and strong problem-solving abilities Experience machining engineering plastics would be highly advantageous.
