Proudly New Zealand-owned and operated, this well-respected civil contractor is the preferred delivery partner for selected large development companies working on substantial, high-quality greenfields land development projects across Auckland. Construction here is a way of life. With a strong build once, build right philosophy, project teams are embedded on their projects from start to finish. The opportunity This is an opportunity for an experienced Construction Manager, or Senior Project Manager to take genuine ownership of the Southern division, leading multiple civil construction and infrastructure projects. Based in the Drury satellite office (with the flexibility to be based on the project site that best suits you) this role will suit an experienced construction leader who enjoys being close to the work, developing people and having real influence over how the operation performs. You will take overall responsibility for the delivery and performance of approximately 5 - 6 projects across the Southern operation, managing a team of around 24 - 28 people with direct responsibility for 5 - 6 senior team members. The Southern operation works with major developers and clients across Auckland and the wider region. You'll oversee a diverse portfolio of major, multi-year civil and land development projects with a strong pipeline of work ahead. What makes this role different? Real ownership. This isn't simply another senior management title. You will be the clear point of accountability for the Southern operation, with genuine authority across project delivery, people, clients and commercial performance. A strong team to lead. You will inherit an established, technically capable and high-performing team who care about outcomes, not shortcuts. Your focus will be on maintaining delivery performance, developing the people around you and continuing to raise the standard. Influence beyond the projects. You'll have exposure to senior leadership and the wider business, with the opportunity to contribute to business development, operational improvement and strategic initiatives. For the right person, there is genuine scope to grow into something broader. What you'll be responsible for Lead delivery across multiple civil construction and infrastructure projects. Take overall accountability for programme, quality, safety, commercial performance and client outcomes. Lead, coach and develop Project Managers, Surveyors, Foremen and wider operational teams. Oversee budgets, cost control, variations, claims and commercial performance. Manage client, consultant, subcontractor and supplier relationships. Ensure projects are appropriately planned, resourced and delivered. Support business development and contribute to the wider strategic direction of the business. About you We're looking for a proven construction leader, or a Senior Project Manager with 15+ years’ experience in civil construction, infrastructure or land development. You’ll bring: Proven senior leadership experience across civil construction, infrastructure or land development. A track record of leading multiple projects and project teams. Strong commercial and financial management capability. Experience managing budgets, costs, variations, claims and project performance. The ability to lead and develop experienced operational teams. Strong client and stakeholder management skills. Sound knowledge of construction methodology, plant, safety, quality and environmental requirements. A relevant tertiary qualification is welcomed, but experience and proven capability will be valued more highly than formal qualifications. Please note - This is a civil/infrastructure construction role. Experience in vertical construction/building will not be relevant. To apply for this opportunity, you must be a New Zealand Citizen, Resident, or have already secured the right to work in New Zealand and therefore hold a valid Work Visa. #J-18808-Ljbffr
