This is a unique opportunity to shape how BRANZ’s research, insights, and expertise connect with audiences across Aotearoa. The successful candidate will lead the editorial direction and digital publishing of BRANZ's content. They will bring complex technical knowledge to life through compelling, accessible stories and practical content that audiences trust and value. The ideal candidate will have experience leading the digital publishing function for an online publication, news site, magazine, membership publication or specialist industry publisher. You may have worked as a Digital Editor, Managing Editor, Head of Content or similar role, with responsibility for editorial planning, commissioning, publishing and audience growth. This role will also play a key part in growing the commercial value of BRANZ’s digital platforms, ensuring content supports sustainable revenue opportunities through audience growth and engagement. About the Role Reporting to the Content and Digital Engagement Team Leader, the Digital Editor is responsible for leading the editing, planning, creation, publishing content strategy and optimisation of BRANZ’s digital content. This is a hands-on leadership role (without direct reports), requiring strong collaboration, editorial judgement, and a high level of ownership. Key responsibilities include: Digital Editorial Planning, Commissioning & Publishing Planning, commissioning and editing content from internal experts and external contributors Defining and delivering a digital-first content strategy aligned with audience needs and BRANZ goals Leading content planning and pipeline management across digital platforms, with a focus on high-value, high-impact content Establishing and maintaining content governance, standards, and workflows that support scalable, sustainable growth Likemind is proud to partner once again with BRANZ to recruit an exceptional Digital Editor. This role is likely to suit someone who has led content for an online publication, specialist news site, digital magazine or membership-based content platform. You will understand how to build and retain audiences through high-quality editorial content, while balancing audience needs, commercial objectives and organisational priorities. You will bring: Proven experience in digital content editing, strategy, planning, and publishing Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong attention to detail The ability to translate complex or technical information into plain English A solid understanding of SEO, analytics, and performance optimisation Experience developing content that supports audience growth and retention, particularly across defined target segments An understanding of how content contributes to commercial outcomes Experience with CMS platforms (e.g. Silverstripe or similar) What BRANZ offer BRANZ has a large, modern campus in Judgeford, a rural setting just 5 minutes from the Transmission Gully Pāuatahanui interchange and approximately 30 minutes from Wellington city.
