Every day you will be dealing with challenging situations which will need to be approached with professionalism, respect, empathy and in a positive manner. You will be welcoming customers into the station and ensuring their enquiries are understood and handled appropriately. The role requires someone with excellent customer focus, be part of a high performing team, demonstrate attention to detail with a can-do attitude. The role of an FSSO provides operational and administrational support to Police which includes but is not limited to, front counter customer service, data entry, use of Police systems, typing and file management. Key Accountabilities: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively across all levels of the organisation and community. Proven ability to remain calm and professional when managing challenging individuals and complex situations in a customer-facing environment. Strong customer service focus, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service and contributing positively within a team-based environment. Experienced in providing administrative, operational, and practical support to a range of workgroups across New Zealand Police. Highly competent in the use of technology, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems, applications, and processes. Demonstrates professionalism in all interactions, consistently delivering exceptional service both independently and as part of a team. Takes pride in representing New Zealand Police and is committed to making a positive difference in the communities we serve. Actively supports colleagues across all functions and levels of the organisation, contributing to a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
