Starfish Consulting – Wellington Central, North Island Are you a hands-on Test Engineer who enjoys building robust automation frameworks, validating complex data, and ensuring critical systems perform as expected? We're looking for an experienced Test Engineer to join a major transformation programme where you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality outcomes across banking and financial services products. This is an opportunity to work on complex integrations, data migrations, and API-driven solutions in a collaborative, delivery-focused environment. What you’ll be doing As a Test Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated testing solutions that ensure systems are reliable, accurate, and fit for purpose. You'll work closely with business stakeholders, developers, and delivery teams to validate business requirements, improve test coverage, and support successful releases. Key responsibilities include: Building and maintaining automated test frameworks and test suites Designing and executing API, integration, and end-to-end testing Validating complex business rules, calculations, and financial transactions Performing migration and reconciliation testing across source and target systems Querying and analysing data to validate outcomes and identify discrepancies Supporting SIT and E2E testing activities, including defect triage and troubleshooting Contributing to CI/CD pipelines and continuous quality practices Ensuring clear traceability between requirements, test scenarios, and automation coverage Fixed Term Contract | 18months Are you a hands-on Test Engineer who enjoys building robust automation frameworks, validating complex data, and ensuring critical systems perform as expected? You’ll ideally have: Strong experience with test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Postman, Bruno, NUnit/C#, Selenium, Cypress, RestAssured, or Karate Solid programming skills in Java and/or Python Experience testing REST and SOAP APIs, including JSON and XML validation Strong SQL and database querying skills Experience using Git and modern version control practices A proven track record delivering automation within CI/CD environments such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions Strong troubleshooting and defect investigation skills Highly desirable experience Banking, financial services, lending, payments, or core banking platforms Data-driven testing approaches and parameterised automation frameworks Data migration, reconciliation, and validation testing Testing financial calculations, interest accruals, fees, or transaction processing BDD frameworks and tools such as Gherkin or Cucumber Key Skills Test Automation | Playwright | Postman | Selenium | Cypress | API Testing | Python | Java | SQL | Git | CI/CD | Jenkins | GitHub Actions | Data Migration | Reconciliation Testing | Banking | Financial Services | BDD | Cucumber | Gherkin #J-18808-Ljbffr
