FindIT Recruitment – Hamilton, North Island Your new company Join a large New Zealand organisation undertaking a significant telecommunications network modernisation programme. You will work within an experienced technical team responsible for supporting critical network services and ensuring continuity throughout a major migration. Your new role As a Transport Engineer, you will support the migration of a critical network from legacy TDM based services to a new MPLS based environment. You will combine operational support with hands on migration activities, ensuring services remain stable, processes are followed and network risks are carefully managed. This is a long term contract starting in late September to early October 2026 and running through to 30 June 2027, with the possibility of further extension through to June 2028. Responsibilities Take ownership of technical activities and provide technical leadership Support the operation of existing telecommunications systems and platforms Facilitate service migrations from legacy TDM infrastructure to an MPLS based network Maintain service continuity and minimise disruption to business operations Follow established technical processes and procedures Identify and carefully manage network risks Maintain detailed and accurate technical documentation and records Work autonomously to achieve agreed tasks and deliverables Work closely with technical stakeholders to deliver positive customer outcomes Requirements Proven experience in the operations and support of telecommunications systems and platforms Strong experience with transport network technologies Hands on experience with MPLS Experience with OTN, Optical Transport Networks Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to create and maintain detailed and accurate technical records Excellent attention to detail with a disciplined approach to processes and network risk Ability to take ownership and work autonomously Experience with Nokia routing and OTN technologies such as IXR, SAR-8 and 1830 PSS, or similar platforms, would be highly advantageous Experience with Nokia Network Services Platform, NSP, and Network Function Manager Packet, NFM-P, would be advantageous Perks and benefits Long term contract through to 30 June 2027 Potential extension through to June 2028 Work on a significant network modernisation programme Hamilton Exposure to MPLS, OTN and Nokia networking technologies Opportunity to contribute to the modernisation of critical network infrastructure You must have a valid working visa for NZ. #J-18808-Ljbffr
