McConnell Dowell – Auckland airport, North Island About the Role McConnell Dowell is seeking a skilled Project Accountant to support our Auckland Airport project. This role is integral to maintaining robust financial systems and ensuring timely, accurate reporting across all aspects of project delivery. Working closely with the Project Manager and wider finance team, you’ll oversee cost reporting, forecasting, progress claims, and financial controls. If you thrive in a fast-paced project environment and enjoy providing clear financial insights to support decision-making, this is the opportunity for you. This is a site-based role at our Project offices at Auckland Airport. Key responsibilities: Prepare monthly cost reports and twelve-month cashflow forecasts Support timely submission of monthly progress claims and input into Workbench Review and input budgets, subcontractor payments, and variations Provide cost-to-complete reviews and risk assessments with the project team Forecast plant, labour, and material costs for self-perform packages Maintain up-to-date balance sheet reconciliations and site ledgers Manage project assets and maintain accurate registers Liaise between the project team and company finance functions to ensure accurate, on-time reporting About you: Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial or management accounting within the civil engineering industry. Solid understanding of construction project financials. Strong analytical, numeracy, and problem-solving skills. Advanced knowledge of accounting software and MS Office Suite. Proven ability to work autonomously, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
