Whaiora is looking for an experienced Kaiwhakahaere Primary Health | Practice Manager to lead our Medical Centre. This is a senior leadership role with overall responsibility for running an efficient, sustainable and high-performing Practice that prioritises whānau experience, quality and equity of outcome. Whaiora is a kaupapa Māori health and social service provider with deep roots in Wairarapa. Our vision is Whānau Wairarapa - He Pae Ora. About the role You will lead a multidisciplinary team and be responsible for the overall performance of the Medical Centre, its people, operations, finances, contracts, compliance, risk and whānau experience. You will work alongside clinical leadership to ensure quality and safety while keeping a clear eye on the performance and sustainability of the Practice. You will understand the realities whānau face in accessing healthcare, listen to what whānau are telling us and be prepared to challenge or change how we work when the current approach isn't delivering. Key responsibilities Run an efficient, financially sustainable and high-performing Medical Centre Lead a capable, connected and accountable multidisciplinary team Keep whānau experience, quality and equity of outcome at the centre of Practice performance Ensure Māori values, experience and outcomes shape how care is delivered Know how the Practice is performing and act when improvement is needed Work alongside clinical leadership to maintain strong quality, safety and clinical governance Manage budgets, contracts, compliance and risk Understand the barriers whānau face and work to remove them Build strong relationships with whānau, funders, health partners and our wider community Change how we work when the current approach isn't serving whānau well About you Proven leadership and operational management experience in primary health, healthcare or a similarly complex environment Strong financial and business management skills Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and getting the best from people Confidence managing performance, change, quality, risk and compliance The ability to understand financial and operational information and turn it into action Sound judgement and the confidence to deal with problems rather than work around them Strong relationships and the ability to work well with whānau, kaimahi, clinicians, funders and sector partners A strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to kaupapa Māori service delivery A commitment to primary healthcare that privileges Māori values, Māori experience and Māori outcomes About us Whaiora is a kaupapa Māori health and social service provider with deep roots in Wairarapa.
