About the Role The Adult Community Therapy Service (ACTS) providesallied health interventions across clients' homes, communities, as well as clinic-based settings. We are seeking a clinician with Seating andWheelchair Therapist experience, who is passionate about providingclient-centred complex wheelchair and seating solutions within a supportiveinter-disciplinary team. This role offers a varied and rewarding caseload,working with individuals who have complex needs, and the support of a skilledand experienced team committed to innovative practice.You will take a holistic, whole'of'day approach to postural management and play a key role inensuring best'practice solutions are implemented in partnership with clients,whānau, and the wider care team. In this role, you will be responsible for: Undertakingcomplex Wheelchair/Seating/24-hour postural management assessments andimplementing best-practice solutions, considered within a holistic approach Prioritising,organising and managing a varied case load Providingeducation and resource, where appropriate, to the client and theirfamily/whānau, as well as the wider interdisciplinary team Engaging inservice delivery reviews and associated quality improvement initiatives Providingclinical leadership for junior staff, Allied Health assistants and students About You You will bring excellent assessment, technical andproblem solving skills as well as an understanding of the 24 hour posturalneeds for this client group. Your skills will also include: Enable NZLevel 1 & 2 Wheeled Mobility and Postural Management (WMPM1/2)accreditation is essential Registrationwith the NZ Physiotherapy Board OR NZ Occupational Therapy Board and currentAnnual Practicing Certificate is essential Experienceworking with clients with complex needs, including a variety of complex anddegenerative neurological conditions is desired Ability towork both autonomously and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team Strongrelationship'building skills with community service providers As travelwithin Canterbury is required, a full NZ Driver's License is essential Working for Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated toensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
